Description

Paper Excellence is hiring a Senior Project Manager, Construction. This person will be supporting the Project Delivery Group to evaluate major capital upgrades/modifications to paper and board machinery and supporting equipment. This role will also be acting as the global subject matter expert and support all capital projects ($10M to $700M in size). This includes helping to evaluate and scope projects, design equipment, evaluate vendor proposals, and help to oversee installation and commissioning.

Role Functions

• The Senior Project Manager, Construction will work with the Project Delivery Group to evaluate major capital upgrades/modifications to paper and board machinery and supporting equipment.

• Acting as the global subject matter expert and will support all capital projects ($10M to $700M in size). This includes helping to evaluate and scope project, design equipment, evaluate vendor proposals and help to oversee installation and commissioning.

• Provide technical advice and guidance to Mill Managers to assess current technology footprint and assess technical solutions to reduce operating costs and/or improve throughput.

• Technology expert on capital paper making equipment design who will advise mill GM’s on development of capital proposals, scoping machine requirements and negotiating with vendors.

• Responsible to introduce innovation or latest technical solutions available in external marketplace.

• Using Business Review Meeting and KPI leverage to resolve potential issues at an early stage.

Academic preparation required

BS in Paper Making Engineering, Advanced Degree is a plus.

Experience required:

• 5+ years or more experience as a Paper machine application engineer or relevant roles in paper mills or related industries.

• Prior experience with green or brown field Paper Mill construction/Re-Builds is required

• Previous experience working in paper machine engineering with an OEM (original equipment manufacturer)

• Experience sourcing key components globally from low-cost sources (low cost countries). Must know what needs to come from OEM and what can be sourced in secondary vendors.
