About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a Skilled Drywall Finisher & Painter to join our construction team for a short-term contract. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in both drywall finishing and professional painting. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a solid understanding of surface preparation and finishing techniques. You’ll work closely with other tradespeople to deliver clean, high-quality results on residential and/or commercial renovation projects.
Duties
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams for a seamless finish
- Sand and smooth surfaces in preparation for painting or further finishing
- Install drywall panels, trims, and corner beads according to project specifications
- Perform all phases of interior and exterior painting, including priming, rolling, brushing, and spraying
- Prepare surfaces through caulking, sanding, patching, masking, and cleaning
- Mix and match paint colors and finishes as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints or work orders to understand scope and timelines
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure project deadlines are met
- Maintain tools, paint equipment, and materials in clean, working condition
- Follow all on-site safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in drywall finishing techniques: mudding, taping, sanding, and texturing
- Skilled in painting techniques for various surfaces (walls, ceilings, trims, exteriors)
- Excellent surface prep skills including caulking, filling, and masking
- Ability to read blueprints and follow project plans accurately
- Familiarity with professional painting tools (sprayers, brushes, rollers)
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and efficiently or as part of a team
- Punctual, reliable, and respectful of project deadlines
Additional Requirements
- Photos or references of previous work are required to demonstrate skill and professionalism
- Must have access to own tools and safety gear
- Must be available between July 20 to August 1, 2025
