The Customer Insights Dedicated Accounts team is looking for an individual whose analytical mind and curious nature can navigate through a variety of data discovery methods to identify trends and opportunities related to our clients’ claims experience.

As a Senior Analyst, you will use your analytical skills, technical abilities, and critical thinking mindset to analyze data, look for trends, and provide insights to help our high-profile dedicated clients understand their benefit plan experience. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will look to build statistical and predictive analyses to support our top dedicated clients in managing their benefit plan impact and costs. This role is located in Winnipeg, MB.

What you will do

  • Exploration of Client Claims Experience
    • Perform data discovery across various data sources in order to address client inquiries on a regular and ad hoc basis
    • Address inquiries from dedicated customers and the field for Group Benefit business
  • Build Annual Client Experience Trend Studies
    • Calculate, analyze, and display year over year trends in client claims experience.
    • Transform data into insights using best practices in storytelling and data visualization
  • Strategic Analytical Development
    • Through data and analytics explore new avenues to further support customer education and decision making to enhance the value provided by Canada Life
    • Identify areas of opportunity to conduct statistical analyses that will provide clients actionable insights
    • Build predictive claims models to forecast clients claims experience
    • Keep abreast of emerging trends in business analytics, focused on the use of visualization to improve consumption of insights
  • Leadership
    • Help foster a data-driven customer centric environment

What you will bring

  • Solution focused – enjoys the challenge of problem solving with strong decision-making skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a math aptitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to tell a story with data
  • Strong technical skills, specifically knowledge and experience with Excel, SQL and MS Access.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and visualization tools including R, Tableau and PowerBI
  • Post-Secondary education with a focus in Math/Statistics/Economics/Computer Science
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a statistical and/or data science role is an asset
  • Knowledge of Group Customer Data as well as an understanding of Health, Drug and Disability benefits and trends would be considered an asset
  • Deep knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, or related field
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website

The base salary for this position is between $52,800 - $87,900 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
