Hilton Garden Inn Niagara-on-the-Lake is looking for a part time Line Cook to join our team! Our Hilton Garden Inn is less than two km from Outlet Collection at Niagara shopping mall. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months experience within a restaurant or hotel setting and the ability to work a varied schedule that will include weekends, evenings and Holidays.

A Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items in our garden grille & bar and in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability while maintaining correct food handling and high sanitation standards.

What will I be doing?

As a Line Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items following recipes and established standards in the hotel's ensuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

· Prepares all food items according to recipe cards and correct handling procedures.

· Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times.

· Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.

· Ensure knowledge of menu and food products

· Stock and maintain designated food stations(s)

· Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen.

· Practice correct food handling and storage procedures according to provincial, local, and company regulations.

· Provide support to the front of the house by responding to guests' questions and/or concerns about menu items.

What are we looking for?

· 1-2 years of cook experience preferred, preferably in a high-volume restaurant in a hotel environment.

· Have a positive "can-do" attitude and be part of a team.

· Will need to work independently at times and be able to remain calm during busy shifts.

· Must be able to work evening shifts weekends, mornings, nights and Holidays.

· Good communication skills and must be able to read/write in English.
