About the role

Position Overview

Reporting to the Lead - Supply Chain Management, the Materials Management Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities in the site Logistics and Supply Chain Department, with a focus on the supply needs for front-line healthcare. The incumbent acts in a supervisory capacity and ensures adequate levels of supplies and equipment are maintained and accessible to units and departments.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Experience

  • Minimum three-year (3) relevant experience in a Supply Chain environment.
  • Minimum one-year (1) supervisory experience.
  • Previous experience working with MS Dynamics GP is considered an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Health Management, Management Information Systems an asset.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Enrollment in a relevant certification program is considered an asset (such as SCMP, APICS, CIM, CPIM).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Email.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Knowledge of Safe Work practices and familiarity with Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively supervise employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a fast paced and changing environment.

  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.

Physical Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job, including occasional lifting of up to 50lbs.
  • May be required to work in a variety of temperatures including excessive heat or cold.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other facilities as required.
