Regular Full-Time Position - (1.0 FTE)
Desired Start Date: July 28, 2025
This position is at the L09 level with an hourly pay range of $49.73 - $66.42
(PIPSC Bargaining Unit)
As a multidisciplinary team member and reporting to the Manager, Ambulatory Care Program, the Chemotherapy staff nurse provides nursing care for patients through the administration and implementation of medical investigation, case management and therapeutic programs through application of knowledge of general and chemotherapy nursing, physical health and psycho-social well-being. This position also provides organization, direction, supervision and collaboration in planning and implementation of nursing and chemotherapy best practices.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required :
- Knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional nursing care;
- Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Ability to teach nursing practices and other relevant unit skills;
- Effective interpersonal relationships and ability to work in a team environment;
- Initiative, judgment and reliability;
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity;
- Knowledge of conflict resolution & techniques;
- Basic computer literacy.
The successful candidate is required to have a Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA); one (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; current CPR certification; and a chemotherapy designation/certification through BC Cancer or other like programs or educational institutions. One (1) year recent Chemotherapy experience is preferred. YHC will consider supporting BC Cancer training/certification for the right candidate.
