About the Role

The Senior Vice President, Sales Operations will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for leading, executing, and optimizing the firm’s national distribution sales strategy. This individual will oversee the performance and development of all distribution-focused team members, while ensuring alignment with the firm’s broader strategic goals. This role is focused on building go-to-market sales strategies, developing high-performing sales teams, and driving flawless execution across all distribution channels. The SVP, Sales Operations will manage the full sales engine—from strategic design and structural development to performance measurement and reporting. A critical mandate of this role is to accelerate capital inflows and investor growth—both new and existing—through clear prospect generation strategies, cross-channel execution, and tactical leadership. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in sales execution, investment products, team development, and channel management within the wealth or asset management industry. Their leadership will directly contribute to significant and sustainable capital growth and increased investor engagement across Canada and beyond.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Design and lead a national sales strategy that supports equity growth of across the Canadian investment landscape.
  • Develop and implement scalable prospecting and lead generation strategies to drive new investor acquisition.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable sales plans with defined targets, processes, and KPIs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure sales plans align with product launches, marketing campaigns, and corporate initiatives.
  • Increase wallet share through cross-selling strategies and targeted campaigns for existing investors.
  • Bring forward tools and resources that support rapid employee development and streamlining the sales funnel and process.

Sales Team Leadership

  • Build, manage, and inspire a high-performing sales operations team—including regional sales leaders, internal wholesalers, and support staff.
  • Develop team structure, recruitment strategy, onboarding programs, and career development pathways.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture that promotes accountability, ownership, and executional excellence.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the training, tools, and data required to succeed in a fast-moving and competitive environment.

Sales Enablement & Process Optimization

  • Lead the creation of enablement resources such as pitch decks, sales scripts, objection handling tools, and onboarding kits.
  • Optimize internal sales processes, including lead management, territory planning, and CRM workflows.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product to align sales messaging, campaigns, and content with investor personas and product goals.
  • Drive adoption of systems and tools that enhance productivity, engagement tracking, and follow-up efficiency.

Sales Reporting & Insights

  • Build and manage a robust sales reporting framework that tracks pipeline development, lead conversion, investor activity, and sales effectiveness.
  • Provide regular executive-level updates on sales performance, initiatives, and market insights.
  • Monitor and report on new investor growth, wallet share trends, campaign outcomes, and channel-level performance.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Strategy teams on revenue forecasting, channel performance modeling, and market expansion planning.
  • Leverage CRM and business intelligence tools (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI) to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as the key operational sales leader working closely with senior leadership, product development, marketing, compliance, and investor services.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of sales initiatives with other business functions to maintain strategic alignment and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to product launch strategies and distribution planning by providing sales-driven insights and market intelligence.

Compliance & Regulatory

  • This leader will be responsible for the wealth firms training and Advisor upkeep with KYC, KYP, suitability determination, disclosure obligations, and CRM practices are held to the highest standards.
  • Holding those in the Dealing Representative space to accountable for internal policies and procedures not limited to trade approvals, compliant communication, record keeping and mandatory compliance training as set out by the securities commissions in Canada.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales operations, distribution strategy, or sales enablement within the investment management industry.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian wealth distribution channels, including familiarity with advisor platforms, regulatory environments, and sales models.
  • Proven success in building and scaling high-performing sales teams and processes in a complex, regulated, and growth-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead prospecting initiatives, drive investor acquisition, and expand wallet share across multiple investor segments.
  • Track record of aligning strategic planning with tactical execution to generate measurable sales results.
  • Strong leadership presence, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop talent at all levels.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), sales analytics tools, and performance dashboards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or professional designation (e.g., CFA, CFP) is considered an asset.
