Summary
As an Inventory Specialist at Freedom Cannabis Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing our inventory processes within our state-of-the-art production facility. This position is vital to ensuring that we maintain optimal stock levels and support our mission of delivering superior cannabis products to our consumers.
The ideal candidate will ensure accurate tracking, efficient stock management, and compliance with state regulations while coordinating with various departments to support our operational goals. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and success of our supply chain and overall business performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate tracking of all cannabis products.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies in stock records.
- Collaborate with production teams to forecast inventory needs based on production schedules.
- Implement best practices for inventory management to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations regarding inventory control and reporting.
- Utilize inventory management software to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
- Track and manage cannabis product inventory at all stages (cultivation, processing, distribution) using Evora.
- Monitor inventory levels as materials, equipment, and stock are issued, transferred, or sold.
- Compile inventory reports, recording the quantity, type, and value of materials and products using manual and computerized systems.
- Prepare requisition orders for stock replenishment and ensure timely restocking of materials and packaging supplies.
- Enter inventory data for production scheduling, relocation, and adjustments.
- Reconcile physical inventory with system records, investigating discrepancies and resolving them in coordination with finance and compliance teams.
- Support monthly and year-end inventory valuation processes, ensuring alignment with accounting records.
- Collaborate with cultivation, lab, packaging, distribution, and retail teams to maintain product traceability and workflow accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with state cannabis regulations through accurate data entry, timely reporting, and documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and organizing inventory and compliance documentation.
- Conduct regular inventory counts, reconciliations, and audits to ensure accuracy.
- Update and manage inventory records in the database or inventory management system.
- Coordinate with sales, grow, and packaging teams to streamline inventory processes.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records or stock levels.
- Generate reports on inventory status, including stock levels, shortages, and trends.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on historical data and demand trends.
- Implement and follow inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers to verify incoming shipments and ensure compliance with order specifications.
Requirements
- Previous experience in inventory management or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of inventory control experience, ideally within the cannabis industry or other regulated environments.
- Working knowledge of Evora or comparable inventory/compliance systems.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Excel and inventory management tools; experience with Evora system is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and data accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively.
- Capable of performing physical inventory counts and handling cannabis products in accordance with local regulations.
