Wage: $35.63 per hour
Hours of work: 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 37.5 Hours weekly
Status: Term position, running until March 31, 2027; subject to continued external funding
The City of Lethbridge is dedicated to fostering social well-being and supporting individuals, families, and communities through innovative programs and partnerships. To achieve this, we are seeking a HIFIS Technician to join our Community Social Development (CSD) team. This role supports the implementation, maintenance, and daily operations of the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS), contributing to impactful service delivery for those in need.If you are skilled in technical support, data management, and user training and are passionate about driving social change, we encourage you to apply.
The Role Reporting to the CSD General Manager and receiving operational direction from staff leading the HIFIS implementation project, the HIFIS Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and ongoing operations of HIFIS to ensure seamless data management and service delivery. You will work collaboratively with service providers, CSD leadership, and other stakeholders to maintain system usability, data integrity, and compliance with funder requirements.
This role is essential for achieving the goals of the Federal Reaching Home Program and expanding HIFIS usage to support Integrated Coordinated Access (ICA) initiatives.
Your Professional Skillset
- We are seeking a motivated professional that is detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for community service. Your professional skillset includes:
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Data Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience in technical support, database management, or data auditing, preferably in the social services sector.
- Flexible and adaptable with an ability to thrive and deliver results in a fast-paced, time-bound environment
- Familiarity with HIFIS or similar client management systems is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database systems, and basic programming for data audits.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FOIP, HIA).
- Excellent communication skills to train non-technical users and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
