Banwell Community Church is seeking a motivated and community-minded student (Secondary or Post-Secondary) to join our team as a Community Organization Worker for Summer 2025. This Canada Summer Jobs Grant position offers a hands-on opportunity to support and lead a variety of programs that serve children and families in our church and neighborhood. The successful candidate will play a key role in organizing our Summer Kids Program (VBS), coordinating family events, supporting weekly children’s ministry, and engaging in regular communication with volunteers, staff, and parents. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, adaptable, and passionate about community involvement, and it will provide valuable experience in leadership, event planning, digital communication, and teamwork. The following provides an outline of the roles and responsibilities associated with the position:

  1. Prepare for and implement a Summer Kids Program (VBS), which includes coordination of

volunteers, scheduling, sign-up, staging, and reporting.

  1. Prepare for and implement various family events and programs, which includes coordination of volunteers, scheduling, sign-up, staging, and reporting.

  2. Coordinate with the office in preparing video announcements and online / electronic updates; preparation / streaming of announcements may be required.

  3. Discuss implementation strategy with your supervisor and provide updates to other staff at the weekly staff meetings.

  4. Provide support with preparation and implementation of weekly Sunday morning children's programming.

  5. Weekly communication with leaders, volunteers, and parents. Prepare for and attend Committee meetings.

  6. Other duties as needed and assigned by supervisor
