Equipment Operator (Forklift) - Full-time - AM Shift (0600 - 1430)
About the Role – Job Description
3 main duties: Shipping, Receiving and Warehousing. Working under the team lead and reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Material Handler / Equipment Operator (Forklift) will be responsible for the accurate moving, locating, unloading, and storing of materials, utilizing a forklift or other power operated equipment. Additionally, this role is responsible for picking, consolidating, packing, wrapping and loading daily orders accurately and efficiently.
- Wage Range - $23.75 per hour
- Operate all power operated equipment safely and efficiently
- Move all product safely and efficiently (Including loading and unloading trucks)
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Pick and pack items accurately for shipment, potentially with a forklift
- Label and prepare items for shipping
- Complete required paperwork accurately
- Perform daily safety checklist and standard battery charging procedure
- Assist in cycle counting and periodic inventories
- Assist team members in meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Update supervisor and team lead on issues or concerns
- Participate in process Improvement by communicating to supervisor and/or team lead
- Mandatory overtime may be required based on workflow
- All other duties as assigned
About You - Personal Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Great attention to detail and maintaining accuracy of shipments
- Hard working, dedicated and reliable
- Safety mindset first
- Works well in a team environment
- Good communication skills, proficiency in spoken English
- Basic math and reading skills, must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English.
- Previous warehouse/manufacturing experience required
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds solo and greater weights in a team-lift environment
- Physical requirements include: lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time, ability to handle heights
- Experienced in driving sit down and stand-up forklifts
- Current forklift certification, swing reach truck certification is preferred
- Valid BC Driver’s License
- Access to reliable transportation to get to work
- Good spatial awareness and willingness to learn new skills
