Job Overview
We are looking for a Community Support Worker to assist an adult female with Smith-Magenis syndrome and MOG antibody disease, supporting her independence and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities as needed.
- Facilitate participation in community programs such as volunteering and career preparation.
- Promote respectful interactions.
- Coordinate with family members and healthcare professionals.
- Address physical, emotional, and social requirements.
- Support skill development.
- Support client on family trips as needed locally or internationally
Qualifications and Skills
- Caregiving or community support experience preferred.
- Preferred: Health care aide registration in Alberta.
- The position requires both national and international travel. A valid passport is essential for this role.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about relevant conditions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Mandatory First Aid and CPR certification.
- A police check within the last 90 days is required.
- Two references from current and past employers are required.
- Must hold a valid passport or be able to obtain one; the cost of the passport and required visas are covered by the employer.

Health Care Aide: 1 year (preferred)
Experience with Complex Care within the community and home that includes
Licence/Certification:
Police Check with VSS in the last 90 days? (required)
First Aid Certification (required)
CPR Certification (required)
Driving Licence (required)
Medication Assistant course (required)
Proof of Current Vaccines and boosters is mandatory for this role due to the nature of our daughter's autoimmune disease. I am happy to discuss this with the team.
