  • Segregate and dispose of non-radioactive waste, identify recyclable materials, and keep the database up to date according to the TRIUMF Waste Management Program.

  • Implement required safety practices, including surveys, contamination control, dosimetry, posting/labelling, and associated documentation.

  • Prepare and package low-level radioactive wastes for shipment to off-site treatment/disposal facilities in accordance with Waste Management Program, and TDG shipping requirements. Label and mark radioactive waste shipping containers. This work requires the packing and shipping of materials that may require physical exertion.

  • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inspections of the radioactive waste facilities, associated waste handling and safety equipment and waste containers.

  • Report problems to supervisor as appropriate.

  • Develop sound waste characterization and sampling plans.

  • Responsibilities above may involve physical demands, including:

    • Sitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing Stairs
    • Carrying - holding things while moving
