Title: Shipping Helper

Reports To: Shipping Receiving Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for receiving incoming raw materials and shipping finished products to Colortech customers. This involves loading and unloading shipments, performing repacks, placing inventory in proper location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Performs shipping function which includes loading trucks and tankers with finished product. Makes sure trucks are safely positioned/chocked before loading.

· Receives incoming raw materials and ensures information corresponds with amount received.

· Prepares Bills of Lading and some waybills for shipments.

· Bags and repacks finished product for export shipments.

· Stores finished goods in appropriate area of the warehouse.

· Maintains an orderly and clean warehouse, including sweeping shipping and grinding areas.

· Assists with month‑end inventory control.

· Grinds pelletized resin into granular resin, clean-up and housekeeping of grinding room.

· Conducts inventory counts of raw material, as requested

· Fills hoppers from silo to box for shipment of resin to sister company.

· Segregate and sort old wooden skids for proper disposition.

· Segregates, sorts and bundles used cardboard, and gets it ready for proper disposition.

· Repacks resin / raw material, as required

· Follows all safety regulations

· Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to the spirit of total quality and continuous improvement in performing the position duties.

· Regular and predictable attendance required. Works various hours, as situations require.

· Performs other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

SCOPE AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

Routine work for which general instructions are provided. Some analysis required in decision making. All activities are governed by policies and procedures, but some freedom exists for selecting action. All difficult or unusual situations are referred to supervisor for resolution.

Works with quality and production teams primarily.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Experienced forklift & reach truck driving is a must.

Formal training and knowledge required, equivalent to High School Education. Applies general clerical/trade knowledge and skills. Understands basic methods, records, specifications and/or equipment within own work unit.

Requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience

Good knowledge of shipping and receiving functions.
