About the role
Clinic Secretary – Casual Job Description Key Responsibilities: Complete administrative tasks including chart preparation, booking appointments, managing phone lines and other administrative tasks as needed
Process patient referrals and follow up appointments in a timely manner
Proficiently respond to all communications including phone calls and emails
Provide face to face patient support in our outpatient clinics
Support nursing staff and physicians with triaging of patient appointments based on patients' needs
Support clinic flow by coordinating on-site and virtual appointments
Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives
Experience with front-line/patient facing health care clinic administrative work is essential
The Requirements Medical office experience is essential
Previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) required. - Telus Practice Solutions (PSS) EMR is an asset.
Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite and an aptitude for adapting to new software and IT systems
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Exceptional patient service skills
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to manage patient confidentiality at all times
