Wage: $17.70 per hour
Hours of work: 7 hours per day 8 am to 4 pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break

Summary
Ridge K.ID.S. requires that a Cook ensures that all Ridge K.I.D.S. kitchens are following all Ridge K.I.D.S guidelines for preparing and serving of food.
The Cook must be sensitive, mature, and able to relate well to both children and adults. Diplomacy, tact and ability to react appropriately in an emergency situation are required. The Cook must be familiar with the Canada’s Food Guide.

Cook Job Duties
- Menu requirements.
- Maintain a log book for any changes made to daily planned menus. Ensure that changes are noted on each classroom posted menu and at the outlying centres and let Head Cook know so that fastoche menus can be changed.
- Prepare a bi -weekly shopping list based on requirements.
- Keep costs within allotted budget.
- Food Preparation
- Prepare 2 snacks daily for all programs
- Prepare a hot lunch for the full day programs.
- All preparation is to be done in accordance with Public Health regulations and standards.
- Serve snacks and meals according to classroom schedules.
- Ensuring a healthy and safe environment
- Follow all appropriate regulations and legislations (CCEYA, Public Health regulations, and Fire code.)
- Wear a hair net or hat and apron at all times.
- The only jewellery to be worn is a wedding ring.
- Keep the kitchen area clean and sanitary at all times.
- Follow all posted cleaning and disinfecting routines and requirements including all appliances located throughout the centre. (Infant room appliances will be maintained by the program staff)
- Food temperatures are to be taken daily and logged in accordance with public health regulations.
- Refrigerator and freezer temperatures are to be taken and logged daily.
- Contribute to the on-going operation of Ridge K.I.D.S.
- Maintain kitchen order and appearance.
- Participate in monthly fire drills
- Monitor and be aware of any health &safety issues around the centres and report as soon as possible to the supervisor or director.
- Participate in maintenance of minor housekeeping tasks to provide a safe and clean environment for the children.
- Participating as a Professional member of Ridge K.I.D.S.
- Maintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to Ridge K.I.D.S. at all times
- Attend at least 80% of staff meetings.
- Participate in annual performance review.
- Participate in recommended training, conferences, courses and all other aspects of professional growth at least once per year. This is above any mandatory staff meetings, training or mandated courses.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Follow all licensing and other regulatory requirements.
- Read and sign annually the Policy & Procedures Manual.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to Ridge K.I.D.S. families, children, staff, management and the corporation.
- Maintain neat and clean appearance in accordance with dress code policy.
- Assist in public relations activities (i.e. parent night, family fun nights)
- Assist in fund raising activities
- Performs other duties as assigned by Head Cook, Supervisor or Director
