The City of North Bay invites applications for the position of Landfill Attendant – Environmental (Part-Time as required) to provide relief for peak work periods along with vacation and sick leave relief. Reporting to the Landfill Operations Supervisor, the attendant is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring and environmental compliance of the Merrick Landfill Site.

Qualifications:

  • Mimimum (1) one year diploma in environmental science or related field
  • Six (6) months previous Landfill or equivalent acceptable experience
  • Forklift training certificate
  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ License.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with the public; good communication skills
  • Cash handling experience
  • Sufficient clerical ability to complete daily reports

Hours of Work: As required – no guarantee of hours

Environment: Unionized

Rate of Pay: $30.32 per hour
