JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance of the Quality Management System at Berry Global in Orillia. The Quality Technician will support key departmental objectives and our Quality Management System.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Determine priorities with the Quality Manager, implement assigned projects and maintain detailed documentation as required

· Communicate clearly, effectively and professionally within the Quality Team

· Update the Quality Manager with any issues that could affect customer satisfaction

· Participate on the Internal Audit Team

· Flexibility to work closely with the Quality Manager, Production Manager & production colleagues to determine the root cause with non-conformances

· Assume ownership of projects and work independently to reach departmental and company goals

· Recommend and implement process and equipment upgrades

· Demonstrate awareness of and adherence to all policies and procedures

· Identify, isolate and document non-conformances

· Perform dimensional studies

· Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning skills

· Team management style. Advocates team concept and possesses strong interpersonal skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Results oriented with the ability to multitask other business considerations

· Knowledgeable concerning quality principles and plastic manufacturing techniques

Experienced Required:

· Experience in a Quality field with exposure to root cause analysis problem solving skills is considered an asset

· Post-secondary education in Quality Assurance or Science-based program and/or acceptable combination of education, training and experience is considered an asset

· Exposure to ISO 9001:2015 auditing compliance

· Familiarity within a manufacturing environment

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $24.03-$26.39 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
