Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Outpatient Clinical Services Program and in collaboration with the Unit Managers, in compliance with CRNM Standards of Nursing Practice, the Nurse Educator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of orientation and ongoing education plans for clinical staff. The Nurse Educator works in a team environment to foster an atmosphere of respect and caring

Qualifications Required Level of Formal Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Required.
  • Must have a minimum of four years recent nursing experience in a clinical setting

An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills And Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), LMS training systems and/or other presentation software
  • Strong time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, flexibility, initiative and decision-making skills
  • Ability to problem-solve in complex situations
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and able to follow detailed protocols, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to initiate and support change
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and work in collaboration with diverse stakeholders

Preferred

  • Master of Nursing Degree preferred
  • Recent oncology nursing experience preferred
  • Previous experience in teaching, education and program development is an asset
  • Familiar/proficient in ARIA or electronic charting preferred
  • CON(C) preferred
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred

Required Licenses, Registrations, Designations

  • Must be a registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).

Other

  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

CCMB provides clinical services to both children and adults. The cancer services the organization provides to Manitobans include prevention, early detection, multidisciplinary cancer treatment, supportive and end-of-life care. CCMB is also responsible for radiation protection throughout the province. In addition, the Research Institute at CCMB investigates all aspects of cancer and blood disorders, including research to improve the patient’s experience while at CCMB.
