Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough credit assessments for new and existing customers.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and market conditions to evaluate creditworthiness.
- Monitor and report on credit risk exposure and trends.
- Assist with negotiation and execution of financial assurances (parental guarantees, letters of credit, other).
- Collaborate with commercial, operations, and finance teams to resolve credit issues and disputes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures.
- Prepare regular credit risk reports and present findings to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Continuously improve credit risk management processes and systems.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit management, preferably in the energy sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Allegro and Microsoft Office Suite would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian energy market and regulatory environment is an asset.
