Position Summary:
The HSE Administrator provides administrative support to the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team. This role ensures proper documentation, reporting, and compliance with safety regulations across the organization. The HSE Administrator plays a key role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of company safety programs and standards.
Position Details
- Based out of our Red Deer office
- This is an hourly position working approximately 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Core Accountabilities
- Provide administrative support to the HSE department, including document control, data entry, and report preparation.
- Assist with incident and near-miss reporting, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Maintain and update safety records, certifications, training logs, and compliance documents.
- Coordinate safety meetings, orientations, and training sessions for employees and contractors.
- Track and report on safety metrics and trends, including leading and lagging indicators.
- Support internal and external safety audits and inspections.
- Assist in the development and distribution of HSE communications, bulletins, and safety alerts.
- Ensure proper maintenance of digital and physical HSE files.
- Respond to inquiries related to safety policies, programs, and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in HSE processes and systems.
Qualifications
Education
- HSA designation preferred.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in an HSE or administrative support role.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Experience with safety management software is an asset.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant OH&S legislation and practices is an asset.
