POSITION OVERVIEW

The Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial activities of the organization. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the integrity of financial information, compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and the implementation of effective financial controls. The Controller is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting, strategic financial analysis, and guidance to support informed decision-making by the executive team. This position is vital in maintaining the financial health of the organization and fostering a culture of fiscal responsibility. This position will be a temporary contract position to cover medical leave for 3-4 months duration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

• Ensure compliance with account principles, standards and applicable regulations

• Provide financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making

• Provide insights into business performance, identifying areas for improvement or expansion

• Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records

• Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure the organization’s compliance

• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process

• Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts

• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis

• Make recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements

• Manage cash flow by monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly cash balances

• Implement strategies to optimize working capital and ensure adequate liquidity

• Lead and develop the finance team providing guidance and mentorship

• Perform performance reviews for direct reports

• Foster a collaborative results-orientated work environment

• Continuously assess and enhance the skills and capabilities of the finance team

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA designation preferred

• Experience with SAP ERP System

• Proven experience in a senior financial role, with a track record of success in financial management and reporting

• Strong knowledge of account principles, financial regulations, and best practices

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization

HOURS OF WORK

The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm although additional hours may be required based on business needs.
