Finning is seeking a Manager, Service Operations to oversee the day-to-day performance of our Fort McKay branch. In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing service workloads and resources to meet customer expectations. You’ll also play a key role in setting strategic goals for the branch and ensuring alignment with Finning’s broader business objectives.

Job Description:
- Provide day-to-day leadership to service staff, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Manage and monitor the work order process to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee service operations and asset utilization to achieve optimal financial performance.
- Plan, manage, and report on service financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and asset requirements.
- Collaborate with shop teams to ensure effective scheduling and resource allocation.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external customers.
- Ensure compliance with service agreements and warranty/goodwill practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning at the branch level.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in a mechanical service environment, with supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Journeyman HET ticket.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar products and services is an asset.
- Strong understanding of Finning’s work order cycle, warranty practices, and service systems (e.g., DBS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and service support systems.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management abilities.
- Experience working in a unionized environment and familiarity with collective agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage safety compliance and promote a safety-first culture.
- Proven track record of achieving service performance targets and financial goals.
Note:
- This position is based out of our Fort McKay shop location.
- Permanent, full-time role.
- Monday – Friday, 5 x 2 schedule.
