About the role
BCIT’s Interior Design Department is recruiting for temporary part-time Teaching Assistants. BCIT requires individuals to fill temporary, part-time Teaching Assistant positions for delivery of Flexible Learning courses on a term-by-term basis in our Interior Design, Flexible Learning Programs

BCIT Flexible Learning runs three terms in twelve week blocks: September to December, January to March, and April to June, as well as a summer term from July to August.
Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:**

Attend all classes (online or in classroom)

Demonstrates cooperation with the course instructor inside and outside of the classroom.

Assist instructors during class time
-
Assist students during class time
-
Assist in evaluation of student performance, including marking exams, quizzes and assignments (during and between classes)

Meet with course instructor as required to determine marking criteria
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS**:**
- Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design (or related field).
- Minimum five years of related current experience, with practical knowledge and experience in the residential and/or commercial design field.
- NCIDQ Certificate or be eligible and willing to sit for the exam.
- Professional member or eligibility for registration as a Professional membership in IDIBC.
- Hands-on AutoCad and/or Revit experience would be an asset.
- Hands-on experience with Sketch up, Photoshop and Indesign would be an asset
- Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work within, and develop, a collegial environment.
- Previous teaching, mentoring or informal training experience would be an asset.
- Flexible availability
Please Note: Teaching assistance are paid 3 hours per week per course. Additional marking time will be required outside of class
