On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Commercial Insurance Sales professional to join their team of dedicated professionals in Elmsdale or Truro, Nova Scotia.

The focus of this role is to actively generate sales and contribute to commercial lines policy and revenue growth through inbound/outbound sales activities. The role will focus on following up on leads generated through digital platforms and partnerships, along with creating sales opportunities through referrals and other sources. This role is focused solely on new business sales; new clients, new policies and existing clients, new policies through identified upselling and cross-selling.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with the broadest insurance coverage and protection available.
  • Provide exceptional best in industry client experience each and every time for new and existing clients.
  • Meet sales targets by actively pursuing sales leads generated through digital platforms and other sources.
  • Build relationships and know clients’ needs through meaningful communication; asking insightful and purposeful questions.
  • Actively search and identify sales opportunities.
  • Ensure prospect/customer follow-up all the time. Respond to inquiries and resolve in timely manner.
  • Leverage technology and broker management systems in sales opportunity/activity management.
  • Leverage broker management system and insurance company portals to prepare insurance quotes and sell, upsell and/or cross sell insurance policies.
  • Develop relationships with insurers and underwriters to discuss and submit risks.
  • Follow standardized procedures in managing activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other departments to drive sales.
  • Support other teams as required to best assist clients.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service – Ensures prospects and customers enjoy an outstanding experience any time they engage with the brand.
  • Research experience – Must be resourceful and research-oriented; they enjoy learning about prospects and customers and find innovative ways of engaging with them to drive sales.
  • Communication skills – Must be personable communicators who clearly describe products and services to generate new clients.
  • Interpersonal/relationship building skills – Must have natural interpersonal skills which allow them to build strong relationships with prospects, potential partners, insurance companies and within the Caldwell Roach team.
  • Collaboration – Must be open to regular meetings to review sales progress against goals and a natural collaborator with marketing and other departments to explore ways to generate sales growth. Must be a team player to be successful.
  • Problem-solving skills – Identify and address prospect and customer concerns during the sales process.
  • Results driven – Must be self-driven and feel accountable to their results and to their clients. Must have sense of urgency and be a goal setter in order to achieve results.
  • Brand ambassadors – Must live cultural values and believe/promote the Caldwell Roach brand in every conversation – understands the mission and differentiators in the market.
