What You’ll Do
As an Associate Financial Analyst Student on the Planning team, you will participate in all planning and forecasting activities for CTFS. You will interact with CTFS business units and CTC Planning, by assisting and supporting them during plans and forecasts. While in this position, you will be an active participant in supporting the information needs of Senior Management, while gaining a unique understanding of CTFS’ strategy and the related financial implications.
- Participate in the completion of financial forecasts, outlooks and plans for Financial Services
- Provide analysis and support to ensure the delivery of cohesive and accurate plans, and identify risks and opportunities that emerge through the planning cycle
- Financial analysis of all financial statements and KPI, including providing business commentary monthly, quarterly, and on an ad hoc basis
- Complete submissions to CTC's planning and budgeting department including: Consolidated and Direct Accountability Income Statements among many others, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, CAPEX, Key Performance Metrics, Board Reporting, and other reporting as required
- Develop expertise of the PeopleSoft Budgeting and Financials systems
- Provide the technical expertise in the completion of financial plans, and assist in the administration and maintenance of the PeopleSoft Budgeting system
- Complete PeopleSoft Budgeting testing for upgraded software and enhancements prior to their implementation
- Assist in the preparation of reporting and presentation materials for Senior Management and the Board of Directors
- Work on special projects as assigned by the Manager
What You Bring
- University degree (in progress) in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Work experience in a financial analysis, planning, or budgeting role is an asset
- Pursuing or completed post-graduate designation (e.g. CPA, CFA, MBA) or other post-graduate education is an asset
- Self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Challenges the status quo through innovation of existing models and processes
- Courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment
- Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business

Hybrid
We have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working in office and virtually in service of outcomes. This role is based out of our CTFS/CTB head office in Oakville, Ontario.
