Job Overview:
Responsible for conducting tests to determine the quality of raw materials, bulk intermediate and finished products, which may require the use of stability sample tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in internal assessments and audits of products, procedures, and equipment to identify any issues with the current state.
- Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols; Investigate or report questionable test results
- Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems, identifying a solution in a timely manner
- Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions
- Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment;
- Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are being maintained, as well ensuring compliance company wide
- Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms
- Write technical reports or documentation such as deviation reports, testing protocols, and trend analyses;
- Prepare or review required method transfer documentation including technical transfer protocols or reports;
- Understand the basic routine of the QA Technician and can fill in when called upon
The Recipe for Success:
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years in a quality assurance role
- Proficient with office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams. Ability to run analytics and use database systems to create reports
- Working knowledge of Ministry of Labour and WSIB
- Working knowledge of AOAC methods, and posses basic Lab analytics skills.
- Strong knowledge of CFIA/Health Canada/ OMAFRA/FDA/USDA/GFSI/HASP Benchmarks Auditing an asset
- Ability to manage and communicate sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-moving environment
- Understanding and managing cost of quality
