Position Overview

The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term

We are seeking a motivated and energetic regular full time Infrastructure and Operations Manager
to join our progressive Information Technology team.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, you will be responsible for all Infrastructure and
Operations (I&O) across the City’s on-premise and cloud landscape. You will set and implement
the I&O strategy to maximize the success of business and IT enterprise initiatives which entails
introducing innovative, differentiating infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance the
City’s overall competitive capabilities and enhance employee productivity. You will draw on your
business acumen and strong relationship-building skills to play a key role in developing IT
standards and procedures, managing vendors, preparing budgets and implementing the City’s
goals. It is an exciting time in IT as the City begins modernization journey including the transition
to Cloud. You will have the opportunity to create the roadmaps, set the standards and determine
the pace of this interesting journey.

You will lead a small team of talented and dedicated IT professionals engaged in IT operations
and support. Your ability to ride the technology elevator (speak to your team in technical language,
while also speaking to the business in non-technical language) will be a strength you possess.
You are also a leader with the ability to inspire and motivate your team in a positive and forward-looking manner.

Requirements

Your academic credentials include a degree in computer science or related discipline, augmented
by business courses and considerable IT management experience, or an equivalent combination
of training and experience. You are known for your strong analytical and problem-solving
capabilities, project management expertise, superior communication and interpersonal skills and
for your reputation as an excellent manager and leader. Experience in compute, networking,
storage, public web services and server virtualization, and/or experience in a local government
environment, would be assets.

During the recruitment process, applicants will be requested to provide a current Police
Information Check (PIC)

Compensation

We offer an attractive remuneration and benefits package for this exempt position, including a
compressed work schedule. The salary range is $119,964.00 – $141,132.00 annually (2024
rates). Salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
