Regional Support Associates, in association with Woodstock Hospital, offers inter-disciplinary clinical and specialized services informed by our expertise within Behavioural Consultation, Case Management, Psychology, Psychiatry, Primary Health Care, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and trauma informed care for people with intellectual disabilities across the Southwest Region of Ontario.
A Community Consultant offers behavioural services for people (18yrs and older) who have an intellectual/developmental disability. Primary responsibilities will include conducting behavioural assessments, the analysis and presentation of behavioural data, development of behaviour protocols / treatment plans and working with employees, individuals and families in developing interventions that are in compliance with professional best practices, agency philosophy and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Service legislation for Clinical Services.
The Community Consultant will be responsible for direct reporting to a Clinical Manager as well as receive professional support from a Clinical Psychologist regarding program sign-off and professional development.
The successful candidate will possess:
- A preferred B.A. in Psychology with special training/education in the area of applied behaviour analysis.
- Proven practical experience in the field of intellectual disabilities and applied behaviour analysis.
- Practical experience in conducting behavioural assessments, devising behavioural interventions and data analysis.
- Understanding and practical application of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services guidelines and standards.
- Strong skills in the areas of verbal and written communication with the ability to convey complex concepts with practical application.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with expectations of program deadlines and service targets.
- The abilities to succeed both independently and collaboratively with internal and external professionals as required in multi-sectoral settings.
- A valid Driver’s License, with a minimum G2 standing, and access to a reliable automobile for extensive travel throughout Southwestern Ontario.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
- A willingness to learn more about this rewarding, exciting and unique field.
