About the role

The Role

The Controller, Financial Operations is a senior leadership role reporting to the Regional CFO, responsible for overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of LEDVANCE Canada Ltd/Ltee. This position combines strategic financial planning with operational oversight to ensure the organization meets its performance goals, maintains compliance, and operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the organization’s annual budget in alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Operational Oversight

  • Lead the development and execution of operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align financial and operational goals.
  • Oversee procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness.

Strategic Planning

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop long-term financial and operational strategies.
  • Analyze market trends and economic data to inform business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.

Risk Management

  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure business continuity planning and crisis management protocols are in place.

Technology & Systems

  • Oversee the integration and optimization of financial and operational systems.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making through improved reporting and analytics tools.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor finance and operations teams.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations within the department.

Key Individual Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA or MSF) is preferred

Professional Experience

  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Proven track record in operational leadership, including process improvement and systems implementation.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and working with senior leadership.

Certifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.

Soft Skills and Competencies

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align financial operations with organizational goals.
  • Leadership and team management skills, including mentoring and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.

Additional Information

  • Travel 1-2 trips annually to either the US or Mexico
  • In-office requirements of 3 days per week
  • Relocation is not offered with this position
