Supply: Administrative Assistant/Switchboard/Print Services Salary: $24.25 per hour + 4% vacation pay

Location: Elementary & Secondary Schools within the Halton District School Board (Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown, Acton); and Burlington - JW Singleton Education Centre

Position Summary Supply administrative assistants staff work on an “as needed” basis, filling vacancies for staff who are away or on leave within our elementary or secondary schools or the administrative Board offices.

The Administrative Assistants provide administrative support in Elementary and Secondary school offices. Including responsibility for the day to day office functions (telephone, front desk reception and maintaining student database “Aspen”); as well as, frontline support for students, parents, and the general school community (reception coverage, attendance input, school start-up procedures, mark reporting process and filing of records).

The Switchboard Operator/Receptionist is responsible for answering calls on a switchboard, and redirecting calls to the appropriate person/department. The Switchboard Operator/Receptionist also receives deliveries, greets visitors and hands out cheques to vendors.

The print/mail clerk is responsible for assisting the print department, as needed, which includes the operation of several copiers/printers, a drill press, a power paper cutter, and an air feed folder. This position will also be responsible for assisting the Shipper/Receiver in sorting incoming mail from both the internal courier system and the royal mail.

Qualifications Supply administrative assistants, clerical positions require a grade 12 diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of at least one year related experience.

Also Required Are Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills

Outstanding communication skills

Expertise in the use of computer technology (e.g. word processing, email, spreadsheet, and internet applications, including Google Suite)

Computer proficiency, including Windows, MS Office, Google Suite, ClarisWorks, Filemaker Pro and Desktop Publishing

Other Assets For The Job Include Flexibility and a positive attitude
