Job Purpose & Responsibilities
This is a permanent part-time position at the Energy Centre with the Community Services Department.
Reporting to the Recreation Programs and Services Manager this position is responsible for:
Customer service through supporting the public’s needs, including but not limited to: front counter reception, cash receipting, directions, inquiries, and information on programming.
Clerical duties such as mail sorting, distribution, coordinating courier pick up and deliveries, word processing, compiling records and data, maintaining files and inventories, operating office equipment, sorting, stuffing envelopes, and proofreading.
Communicating effectively with the public, stakeholders, and all departments within the City of Cold Lake.
Being an ambassador for the City of Cold Lake by demonstrating a positive attitude.
This position is 20 hours a week and includes evening and weekend shifts.
Qualifications & Competencies
Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Administration, or related field.
Minimum two years’ experience in customer service and/or Administration, with preference given to those with experience in a Municipal or other Government setting.
Must be able to maintain a high level of Confidentiality with an understanding of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Proven communication skills both written and verbal.
Strong organization skills.
A keen interest in helping others.
The ability to be independently motivated as well as a supportive team member.
Standard First-Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset.
Must be willing to provide a Criminal Record Check and a Driver’s Abstract.
More Details
Salary for this position is $30.04/hr.
The schedule for this position involves mostly evening and weekend shifts.
All permanent employees are eligible for an exceptional benefits and pension package.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
