About the role

The Basic Gist:

Hi, my name is The Mule. I love chef-inspired tacos, cult classics, tequila drinks, GOOD tunes, vegetarians, bourbon, graffiti, vegans, mood lighting, queso & YOU.

I should also mention I'm 100% gluten free. And I'm 100% serious about that. Our bartenders have crafted a bourbon -and tequila- focused cocktail menu that will surprise and fascinate, and we also have a variety of beers on tap.

We are Port Dover's favourite lunch spot, regular late-night haunt, and go-to destination for a great bite & drink. Our tacos range from classic to weird-and-wild-you’ve-gotta-try-this.

We offer a variety of fare that is sure to satisfy either the most dedicated carnivore or delight your vegetarian and/or vegan side.

What’s An “Other Bird”?

The Other Bird is a hospitality family that includes The Mule & Rapscallion & Co. (Hamilton, ON), The Mule (Burlington, ON), The Mule (London, ON), The Mule (Cambridge, ON), and The Mule (Port Dover, ON).

We are a young, growing, and fun-loving company that believes in providing amazing culinary and service experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Complete all daily prep requirements in a competent and confident manner
  • Cohesively working with current Mule BOH team
  • Performing all assigned duties as required, deep clean requirements, help the line during service, etc.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times
  • Assisting with product ordering and inventory control as needed
  • Maintaining a positive and committed “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude
  • Receiving direction from The Mule's Chef.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • 1-2 years Prep Cook experience in restaurant kitchens is required.
