About The Position ADM is looking for a Regional Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) that will provide first class support to our operations in Canada. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to supervisors and plant managers by proactively diagnosing and resolving workforce issues and ensure full compliance with company policies and labor legislation while maintaining strong strategic relationships. Part of your responsibilities will require you to partner with the Canada Regional Human Resources Manager to develop country-specific policies and operating procedures to make sure that our global programs can be applied locally. As a well rounded generalist, you will make a difference in our operations, every day.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide expert coaching and strategic advisory support to managers on labour relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and adherence to collective agreements, ensuring consistent and compliant application of policies and fostering positive employee relations.
  • Participate in the hiring process by documenting job descriptions, screening candidates, join the interview panels, provide guidance and tools to hiring managers in selecting the appropriate talent.
  • Conduct workplace investigations into employee complaints or incidents, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, with the ability to provide recommendations with corrective measures and document accordingly.
  • Coordinate and support the grievance process, from case intake to supporting the business in responding timely according to the parameters of the collective agreements. Participate in Joint Labour Committees as needed.
  • Lead local and national committees evolving around legislated topics such as accessibility, diversity and francization.
  • Support the Canada Regional Human Resources Manager in completing audits, fillings and mandatory reporting.
  • Refine the onboarding experience through partnerships with our centers of excellence by developing, maintaining and delivering pertinent content to new hires.
  • Enforce policy and regulatory compliance, and act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, addressing inquiries and providing guidance on benefits and corporate programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include additional responsibilities beyond the core scope of the role.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • We are looking for a resilient professional that will be able to work in a faced paced environment. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate autonomy, adaptability, with the ability to shift priorities, take on diverse tasks, and respond effectively to changing business demands.
  • Prior experience working in a multi-jurisdictional environment, with demonstrated knowledge of both provincial and federal legislation within Canada.
  • Capacity to provide recommendations regarding employee relations within unionized or non-unionized environments, ensuring fair, consistent application of policies in compliance with labor laws and collective agreements.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and rapport with stakeholders across all levels of the organization: Customers, centers of excellence, union representatives, external vendors just to name a few.
  • Possess a continuous ‑ improvement mindset with the ability to identify areas of improvement and autonomously initiate corrective actions to increase operational efficiency.
  • Mastery of Human Resources and Labour Relation best practices with the capacity to apply these concepts from theory to practice.
  • Demonstrates intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, more precisely in Word, Excel and Power Point. Prior experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to manage employee data, generate reports, and support HR operations.
  • Proficiency in both French and English will be considered as a strong asset for this position, as effective communication in both languages is necessary to engage with diverse stakeholders in North America and ensure seamless operations.

Education And Work Experience

  • The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources combined with 5 to 8 years of prior work experience, preferably in a global company. Equivalent combination of education and experience in the manufacturing industry will be strongly considered.
  • Certified HR professional with designation(s) from a recognized body. Conflict resolution training and certification will be considered as a strong asset.

Additional Information

  • This role requires regular local travel and a weekly rotational presence near the reporting office that will be agreed upon, with the possibility to work from home one day a week.
  • Must be travel-ready, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel by air. Occasional travel to out-of-province locations may also be required.
  • It will be necessary for certain projects to accommodate the availability of our colleagues located in other time zones.
  • This position is offered in various locations: Windsor (Ontario), Mississauga, (Ontario) or Montreal (Quebec).
