Fowler is currently seeking a Trucking Operations Manager to oversee the coordination of company and broker trucks and drivers, ensuring optimal availability, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all company trucks and drivers for jobs as required
- Coordinate all broker trucks for jobs as required
- Dispatch fuel truck to various jobs
- Identify driver on duty hours - info from clerk
- Ensure that the trucking division is in compliance with regard to hours of service
- Review and correct driver time sheets, data items and compliance issues.
- Focus on profit maximization and cost reduction
- Monitor driver performance (eyes and ears of drivers)
- Respond to calls from superintendents (driver related issues)
- Liaison with materials and construction - specialty hauls (floats) - including dispatch float moves
- Provide driver pool to identified dispatch locations (Rosewarne, McDougall, etc )
- Provide trucks for specific job requirements hoppers - tailgate spreader etc.
- Obtain overweight & over size permits as required
- Follow through on driver incidents, participate on CRC, and ensure continued training of safe work practices
- Assist and develop driver meetings (presentations), and coordinate communication meetings with drivers
- Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner.
- All other duties requested by management.
Position Requirements
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience in the trucking industry.
- Must have commercial driving experience and previous experience or a willingness to learn how to plow (must be willing to fill in on occasion as a spare snowplow operator).
- Business or construction related postsecondary education, though knowledge gained through experience may be considered.
- Previous experience in hiring and training employees.
- Computer literate, or working towards computer literacy.
- Strong organizational skills with clear oral and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to lead and direct other staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Must have an AZ, DZ or equivalent driver’s license.

FOWLER Construction is one of Ontario's leading road-building, aggregate-producing and highway maintenance companies operating throughout central and northern Ontario.
