About the role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Law Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law matters, excellent litigation and negotiation skills, and a client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Prepare and draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery, and agreements.
- Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in family law.
- Advise and counsel clients with compassion and professionalism.
- Manage case files and maintain accurate, detailed case notes.
Requirements:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Quebec Bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing family law.
- Strong courtroom presence and trial experience is an asset.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
- Client-focused, empathetic, and ethical approach to legal practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-conflict custody cases or complex asset division.
- Mediation or collaborative law training is a plus.
- Bilingual ability is a bonus
