The Manager, Network Operations will be accountable for the operation of the IT Network and telephony infrastructure within the enterprise. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of all third-party and internally managed network infrastructure used to support all business process across the enterprise. This individual will have a diversified background of technical network experience, demonstrated project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, be an adept leader of people, plus have a superior and service-oriented approach to IT operations.
This role will also be responsible for operational service management processes to ensure quality, efficiency, productivity and agility goals are achieved. As a member of the IT leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of the Information and Technology strategy, and ensures its alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of network administrators and contractors. Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success.
- Provides oversight for the operations and support of all networks that fulfill the needs of the business and provides input to the Director of Enterprise Cybersecurity and Resilience.
- Execute capacity and performance planning, overseeing software/hardware upgrades on production platforms. Monitor network to ensure optimal performance and eliminate downtime by troubleshooting system problems and performing scheduling maintenance and audits of the network.
- Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure ENMAX’s wide network and communications infrastructure are secure, available, stable, efficient, and scalable.
- Lead the deployment and administration of LAN/WAN, wireless networks, cellular networks and cloud-based network services to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
- Manage and support day-to-day operations of telephony systems, including VoIP, desk phones, and conferencing systems.
- Lead the development of the operational network aspects of the Information Technology roadmap and ensure its integration with the broader enterprise strategic plans.
- Build and maintain relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of network services to meet those needs and respond with agility to changing business priorities.
- Develop and control the network operations annual operating and capital expenditure budget and manage expenses to stay within plan.
- Plan and manage projects involving new phone system rollouts or fiber builds, including cutovers and cabling infrastructure.
- Track and review service levels, escalate issues, and hold vendors accountable to meet SLAs
Education Required
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ten or more years of experience in IT.
- Five years of progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Preferably experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams, influencing key stakeholders, across the organization and within complex contexts.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing standard processes and managing performance to achieve key metrics.
- Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT operations teams in complex and dynamic environments requiring 24/7 support.
- Attainment of relevant certifications and professional networking via involvement in industry groups.

- Proven ability to successfully influence at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management
- Experience aligning business strategies and requirements with industry standards and methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
