About the role

Scheduler is a front-line role which focusses on the creation and maintenance of the project schedule throughout the life cycle of the project. A key communicator of project health, working closely with the Production Planners and Project Controls team to monitor timelines, identify potential scheduling delays, and facilitate remedial action.

  • Utilize contract documentation and estimating work/material sheets to create the project schedule.

  • Ensure schedule budgets are maintained to accurately match project contracts as the scope of work evolves to include cancellations, adjustments, and increases in scope of work.

  • Collaborate with the Scheduling Team Lead, Planning Team, Project Manager, and QC to ensure activity breakdown, logic sequence, and inspection points are accurately maintained in the project schedule.

  • Provide schedule specific support to the Planning and Project Controls teams.

  • Daily maintenance of the Project Schedule with input from Production, Planning, Project Controls and QC to ensure the current progress of the project is accurately represented.

  • Provide periodic efficiency, schedule health, and forecasting reports to the Production, Program, QC, Project Controls and Accounting teams.

  • Post-secondary degree; preferably in technical, engineering, or related discipline.

  • Trade Certificate, Red Seal is considered an asset.

  • Lean/Six sigma White, Yellow, and Green Belts would be considered assets.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset.

  • 2-5 years of planning & scheduling experience, preferably in a naval shipbuilding or repair environment.

  • Interpretation of work breakdowns for implementing into a project schedule.

  • Experience using Primavera P6, MS Excel, Aveva, or AutoCAD would be considered an asset.

  • Thorough knowledge of naval repair methods considered an asset.
