Scope
The City of Surrey’s Parks, Recreation & Culture Department aims to build healthy communities where all people are active and engaged for life. As part of that commitment, we are looking for an auxiliary Concession Worker - Cook who can provide excellent customer service to patrons.
We’re looking for a flexible, enthusiastic team player to join our kitchen team, operating out of the Cloverdale Recreation Centre. This is an auxiliary position with primarily daytime shifts, and the occasional evening or weekend shift.
Responsibilities
Preparing and selling a variety of food and beverage items in the kitchen/lounge.
Accurate cash handling.
Maintaining stock inventory and supply orders.
Dish washing, floor mopping and general cleaning of the kitchen and lounge area.
Cooking ability for up to 150 people.
Working well under pressure.
Performs job related duties at luncheons and special events, including but not limited to event preparation, food preparation, serving food and cleaning.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
One year experience in a position requiring cash handling and meal preparation.
An acceptable equivalent of training and experience may be considered.
Emergency First Aid certificate.
Food Safe Certificate.
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
Good knowledge of equipment related to food preparation, cooking and cleaning of equipment.
Working knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations.
Other Information
Pay Grade: Schedule D
Hourly Rate: $22.06 (2024 Rate)
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
