Transportation Coordinator (Reverse Logistics)

Job Summary Reporting into the Transportation team, the Transportation Coordinator will monitor and manage transactional shipment activity. They will liaise with other department and address customer inquiries as well as resolve shipment issues. They will ensure the processing, delivery at an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities And Tasks
- Respond promptly to all shipment requests, rates, and book cost shipments.
- Monitor and record relevant shipment information systematically, manage successful movement of shipments.
- Create and execute backup plans for shipments.
- Manage successful execution of dedicated trucking commitments.
- Promote and maintain excellent relationships with outside carriers and internal departments.
- Adhere to appropriate regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop effective solutions to shipment opportunities for customers and promote company services.
- Provide effective communication to and between external and internal customers, orders, returns, PODs.
- Respond effectively to all service failures and maintain product return program.
- Responsible for achieving and maintaining overall gross margin targets.
- Support the development and response process for spot quotes and RFPs.
- Review and resolve undelivered shipments to ensure timely delivery and system accuracy.
- Provide support to other departments as required.
- Assist with training and orientation of new team members.
- Identify and facilitate process improvement projects to drive efficiency.
- Ability to excel in dynamic environments with rapidly changing priorities and multiple concurrent deadlines
- Other tasks as assigned.
Role Requirements
- 2 years of experience in a similar role within the trucking industry.
- Previous experience using Full Circle or 3G TMS (preferred).
- Knowledge of Dispatch systems & Transportation Management Software TMS (Asset).
- Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management (preferred).
- Responsible for following best Quality, Environmental and Sustainable practices and ensuring procedures are adhered to within day-to-day operations.
- Knowledgeable with the ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 Standard requirements applicable to assigned functions and role.
- Takes accountability and supports team to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality (QMS) and environmental (EMS) management systems.
