About the role

Job Description - Program Facilitator (part-time)

Reports to: Manager, Service Delivery

Main Objective:

The Program Facilitator will be responsible for facilitation of group mentoring in Mentoring Programs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the setup, operation, and conclusion of programs in multiple locations.

  • Responsible for successful delivery of the mentoring programs through quality mentorship, on-site support, and consistent correspondence.

  • Ensure high level proficiency in applying child safety standards, risk management knowledge and agency procedures throughout all aspects of program delivery.

  • Ensure the highest delivery of mentorship programs.

  • Ensure program satisfaction for all stakeholders including program site liaison(s), mentees and parent/guardians.

  • Responsible for reporting any issues of concern to program specialists and direct manager in a timely manner to ensure the safety and completion of the program.

  • Support the enhancement program’s curriculum through research, and lessons learned from current issues that affect youth.

  • Abide by BBBST policies and procedures managing both physical files and a confidential database.

  • Perform administration functions promptly including correct use of CRM Dynamics Case Management System and compliance with BBBSC National Standards of documentation and record keeping.

  • Attend regular scheduled team meetings to discuss service delivery, agency expectations, and case consultation.

  • Conduct Ministry of Education Surveys as requested.

  • Attend agency events as requested.

  • Other duties as assigned by the reporting manager.

Position Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in relevant discipline or at least 2 years of experience in social service area in youth programming and development.

  • Experience facilitating groups of youth in recreational or educational settings.

  • Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, specifically Indigenous, Black or other racialized groups.

  • Strong understanding of interests and passions of children and youth.

  • Demonstrated ability to use creativity to meet the needs of today’s children and youth.

  • Interpersonal skills required for canvassing and building networks with other community organizations and schools.

  • Strong organizational skills including time management, prioritizing, and multi-tasking.

  • Successful up-to-date Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening

  • Successful completion of the internal Mentor Intake Assessment in accordance to BBBSC National Standards

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Requires regular travel to Toronto communities and neighborhoods, as well as in-office work
