Bevo Farms Ltd is the largest supplier of propagated plants in North America, providing greenhouses, field farms, nurseries, and wholesalers across the continent with healthy, vigorous, pest-and-disease-free plants. Bevo operates four facilities in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.
Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to support our large-scale, highly automated greenhouse operation. This critical role ensures our equipment and infrastructure remain operational to support plant propagation at scale. The successful candidate will bring strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills with experience in automation and agricultural systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on greenhouse systems including plunger and centrifugal pumps, HVAC, compressors, conveyors, irrigation systems, pneumatic systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly identify root causes and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, minimizing equipment downtime.
- Calibration and Adjustment: Calibrate equipment and automation components to meet productivity and performance standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and performance tracking reports.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations, production, and maintenance leadership teams to support greenhouse productivity.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to health & safety standards, especially when working with high-voltage systems or aerial platforms.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to system upgrades, process improvements, and enhanced automation functionality.
- Rotating Duty: Provide after-hours emergency support on a rotating basis.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Millwright
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing:
- Plunger & centrifugal pumps
- Pneumatic systems
- Conveyors & automation systems
- Compressors and auxiliary equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Industrial Maintenance, Automation Technology, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical and automation experience
- HVAC maintenance (filters, belts, coil cleaning)
- Plumbing and pipe repair knowledge
- Forklift operation experience
- Skid steer experience
- Valid certifications in:
- Harness training
- Aerial work platform operation
- First Aid
- Journeyman Electrician (asset)
- PLC programming or automation certifications
