As a Student Retail Furniture Sales Associate, you will provide courteous and efficient customer service in store, and support with general store maintenance and furniture assembly. Led by the Manager, Furniture Store, this opportunity suits a proactive self-starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Please note the successful candidate must be available for store hours:
- Weekdays – 2:00pm to 6:00pm
- Saturdays – 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Sundays – 11:00am to 5:00pm
Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:
- Greet and assist customers with all aspects of their home furnishing, appliance, and accessories requirements.
- Process customers’ transactions in the P.O.S. system.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and loading customer pick-up orders.
- Assist with preparing items for Delivery and/or Dealer shipments.
- Assemble furniture and place on retail sales floor.
- Assist in moving furniture displays and relocation of product within the store and stock areas.
- General housekeeping and store maintenance of retail store and facilities.
- Assist in maintaining a clean truck, warehouse, and stockroom.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with other special projects as requested from the Store Manager.
We’re looking for:
- Must be a minimum 16 years of age or older, and currently enrolled in high school, college, or university.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills with a friendly helpful attitude. Retail experience an asset.
- Ability to assemble various fixtures and furniture.
- The role involves regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing, and requires the ability to consistently lift and carry up to 50 pounds without difficulty.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays, at our Retail Furniture Store in St Jacobs.
