About the opportunity:
The incumbent will report directly to the Plant Controller and indirectly to the Plant Director. He/she will work closely with the local management Control team (“MC”) and collaborate/coordinate with other MC partners from Corporate and sister plants. This role involves collaborating with various departments to drive production efficiency and plant profitability, providing financial support and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis/product costing, month-end closing and reporting.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Perform cost accounting activities such as product costing, production orders variance analysis, cost analysis, raw material mass balance and monitoring of the annual inventory counts.
- Improve performance by evaluating processes, conducting in-depth analysis of operational and financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing recommendations to drive efficiencies.
- Support the plant controller and the management control team in completing the monthly closing activities.
- Prepare the monthly reporting package comparing actual results against budget, prior year, and forecast, investigating deviations from planned results, understanding the underlying causes, and recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare the weekly scorecard (to track weekly KPIs) and present to the local team.
Other duties as required
- Actively Participate in building the annual savings plan, the annual budget and the monthly forecast.
- Support and work closely with Operations and other various departments to provide financial guidance, insights and recommendations.
- Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis.
What you will bring:
- MBA or bachelor’s degree in finance or a combination of bachelor’s degree in food engineering and relevant accounting/Finance background
- CPA is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as FP&A or equivalent
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers
- Experience in the dairy industry is an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proficiency with SAP environment is an asset
- High attention to details
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated
