About the role
Our client, a well established, specialty manufacturer is seeking a Controller to run their accounting function. This position reports to the President and will be five days a week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present accurate & timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP (ASPE)
- Analyze financial results, trends, and variances to provide actionable insights that help drive informed decision-making across the company
- Drive the budgeting process to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives
- Develop and maintain multi-year financial forecasts, assisting in tracking performance and making adjustments as necessary to meet goals.
- Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational and financial obligation.
- Prepare and manage working capital forecasts to ensure efficient financial operations
- Improve product costing capabilities and roll-up of production costs by job / project to drive pricing and RFP decision-making
- Implement robust contribution margin and gross margin tools & reporting
- Leverage insights to develop cost reduction strategies to maximize profitability
- Develop planning tools to support informed decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field
- CPA designation
- Ten or more years of progressive experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager
- Strong knowledge of GAAP – ASPE and / or IFRS
- Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
