Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document daily equipment maintenance duties such as checking levels, safety equipment, greasing, etc.
- Perform extensive physical labour as required and instructed.
- Actively and safely participate in the plant’s cleaning and preventative maintenance programs.
- Continually observe and report all plant deficiencies to the plant Foreperson.
- Participate in company sponsored training programs and obtain all certifications as required by government and Fowler regulations (i.e., Surface Miner and Fall Arrest).
- Continually build your knowledge base of all plant operations.
- After receiving training, safely operate equipment as per the Foreperson’s directions.
- Perform and document daily equipment maintenance duties as required.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Position Requirements
- Currently working in the trade is preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach.
- Able to work within a team environment.
- Must be willing to travel to various quarry and plant locations in the Muskoka/Parry Sound/Haliburton regions.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

FOWLER Construction is one of Ontario's leading road-building, aggregate-producing and highway maintenance companies operating throughout central and northern Ontario. Founded in 1949, with its main office in Bracebridge, Ontario, FOWLER owns and operates over 30 aggregate pits and quarries, three asphalt plants, and a comprehensive fleet of trucks and equipment to service our aggregate sites, construction projects, and highway maintenance operations.
