About the role
Join the Business Strategy and Enablement team in the position of Senior Specialist, Data and Information. In this role, you will support the design, development, implementation, maintenance, evolution and enhancement of the data strategy at CMHC. You will help the organization realize the full value of its information assets and help to evolve the corporate information taxonomy. You will implement and manage an effective data/information governance model and framework to help CMHC become a more data-mature organization.
What you’ll do:

Provide advice to appropriately manage information throughout its life cycle, including the transition from aging or no longer supported applications to corporate standard applications.
-
Support the establishment of operational guidelines ensuring successful implementation and maintenance of an information governance framework.
-
Provide functional/technical guidance and direction to create alignment and adherence to data/information governance policies for stakeholders.
-
Implement mechanisms/solutions and facilitate support and coordination to solve information-related issues that impact business decision making.

Monitor the qualitative and quantitative business benefits for various data and information governance deliverables utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs).

Develop and manage guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance to policies and that outcomes have clearly articulated scopes, quantifiable business benefits and are aligned with CMHC’s information governance oversight policies and risk taxonomy.

Manage the ongoing development and integration of business level structures, navigation structures, metadata and templates to maintain the integrity of the taxonomy.
What you should have:
-
An undergraduate degree in a related field such as computer science, business, finance or commerce.
-
A minimum of seven years of prior relevant experience in related positions with Information Management responsibilities or within Information Technology with increasing responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of governance frameworks and information management protocols.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
-
Excellent ability to understand technical solutions and business goals and align them.
