About the role
Who you are
- 4+ years of relevant design experience at a tech, product-driven company, or a design agency
- A portfolio that showcases engaging examples of B2C/consumer-facing products on mobile native platforms (iOS and/or Android), SDK products, and/or white label products
- Expertise in product, interaction, and visual design paired with a high bar of craft and taste
- Experience leading design projects end-to-end
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent presentation and storytelling abilities
- Comfort working with distributed teams
- Experience in Payments or Fintech
- Experience designing B2B/enterprise products and tools
- Additional expertise in one or more of these areas: accessibility, motion design, content design, user research, design system, front-end engineering, product management
What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Designer at Marqeta, you will play a critical role in designing solutions that help business customers build and launch card programs. You will work on our 0 -> 1 consumer-facing products and shape the future of embedded finance. We’re interested in hiring someone who’s highly focused on craft and execution, while being capable of leading projects and operating independently
- Craft embedded finance solutions for customers and cardholders
- Own a product area and lead design execution end-to-end while driving cross-functional alignment
- Assume responsibility for design quality in areas they oversee
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders on all aspects of product, design, and development
- Advocate for user needs and balance them with business needs to make informed decisions that work for all
