The Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Public Operations department as a Facility Services Worker – Certified.

Under the supervision of the Team Lead – Facility Services, the Facility Services Worker – Certified performs various duties in all areas of maintenance and repair, as well as assisting in the alteration and installation of all systems in compliance with corporate and provincially legislated Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies and codes of practice and the City of St Albert Environmental Management System.

The individual we seek can work independently and in a team while making sound decisions based on established standards.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Education.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clear drivers abstract showing fewer than 5 demerits is required.
  • Current Standard First Aid Certification.
  • 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate.
  • A minimum of 5 years recent directly related building operations systems experience including HVAC, boilers, electrical, mechanical controls systems and security systems.
  • Strong customer service and ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public & building tenants.
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office programs.
  • The position involves physical labour (heavy lifting) as well as sitting, riding, and standing. Incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions and be able to work at heights

Hours of Work

7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Participation in the standby roster will be required.

Compensation

$34.02 per hour. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package.
This position is covered by the CUPE Local 941 Collective Agreement.
