Your Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Assistant performs routine functions related to the distribution of pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include accurate stocking of medication carts, receiving Pharmacy Department orders, prepackaging medications using various methods including automated and computerized devices, data entry and filing. In addition, this position will maintain communication with internal and external customers and professionals. This position requires accurate data entry, record keeping, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. All tasks and duties require motivation, self-direction and minimal supervision. This position includes physical exertion, particularly walking.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for the packaging, distributing, shipping medications and the management and replenishment of medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Individuals must be able to perform physical demanding tasks involving standing for long periods of time, extensive walking, and lifting to 22 kg, pushing and pulling in addition to tasks requiring visual acuity and repetitive motion. The incumbent must possess fluent English language skills, in addition to having reading and comprehension skills. Basic math skills, computer skills, accurate keyboarding and attention to detail are necessary. May be exposed to areas where traumatic events occur.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pharmacy Assistant program or experience in a Pharmacy setting is an asset.
